A & A has original factory Cutwater, Transom Guards, and Boarding Ladder patterns for most models of Century Runabouts. Our Cutwaters, Transom Guards and Ladders are custom built for each customer with a lead time of 2-3 weeks depending on how much raw material we have on hand. Any cutwaters and ladders in inventory will be listed here. Contact us with any questions. The new cutwaters we make are made out of stainless steel, tig welded, and polished and buffed to a shine. By tig welding, we can eliminate the small "wedge" piece (usually always split or broken) that was soldered on the original brass cutwaters. We can offer a brass cutwater for the same price as the stainless....but chrome plating costs would be additional. Stainless cutwaters also offer a strength advantage over brass. Brass can easily be dented or scratched by bumping a dock or whatever. Stainless cutwaters can also be removed and polished and buffed if they ever become scratched. Transom Guards are fashioned out of polished stainless steel or brass, your choice. The brass ones would need to be chrome plated for final finish. Boarding Ladders were a popular item specific to Century Boats. Boarding Ladders are now made out of polished stainless steel tubing in place of the original chrome plated brass tubing. The shine is close to the chrome, but you add more strength with the stainless. Plus there is no worry of chrome chipping or flaking. We can also make custom cutwaters and transom guards for many makes of wooden boats like Chris Craft, Garwood, Hacker Craft and others. If you have your old cutwater, you can send it to us for duplication. We would also need the cutwater to quote pricing. Also, if your cutwater is missing, (and your boat is not a Century), then with some careful measurements and templates, we can make a cutwater to fit your bow. Contact us with any questions on having a custom cutwater made. |
